Pass the time with our friendly animals in our petting area
Petting and spending time with animals can be an invaluable experience for children. It teaches kids the importance of being gentle and kind, and to have respect and compassion for other forms of life.
It’s also a lovely opportunity to spend time with animals we wouldn’t normally be able to get close to.
Petting area prices:

£10.00 per child (under 2s get in free)

Pony Rides
£10 per child / 2-10 years. 4 laps around our enclosed area. Please note this is for a fun experience only and is not not a riding lesson. For children aged 12 and over please enquire for pricing.
Unicorn Pony Rides
£20 per child 2-10 years. Only available on weekends throughout the winter months.

SHEEP - Valais Black nose Lambs
This rare breed originates from Switzerland and can grow as large as a pony. Bev Griffiths, the owner, has hand-reared these animals to the beautiful boys they are today! They are incredibly affectionate and will follow you around like a dog!
MINIATURE TOM & JERRY DONKEYS FROM HOLLAND
Meet Cookie and Star - Very special and rare donkeys who love children and cuddles. They now have a baby foal called Angel.
MINIATURE PONIES
Cheeky Charley is a Falabella - the very smallest of the pony breeds. He is just so small and adorable, but don’t let him fool you – he is indeed a cheeky chappie, as his name suggests.
We welcomed our new arrival Blossom in June 2022 she is registered the smallest horse in the UK fully grown.
Meanwhile, Freddie is our miniature Shetland – a rather old man now, but fighting fit and doing very well, despite his advanced years!
RABBITS
Barbie and Ken live here at Equine Dreams - come & see the cutest couple.
BAWTRY ALPACAS
Uncle Tut and Uncle Reggie are our beautiful alpaca boys – and they certainly enjoy getting plenty of fuss and attention from the families who visit us each day. Our Alpaca's have extended their family including two rare Suri Alpaca's called Elvis and Uncle Len.
NORWEGIAN REINDEER
Our Norwegian reindeer are friendly, relaxed and more than happy to spend time being petted and fawned over by our guests.
MANGALITSA PIGS
These domestic pigs love to play and lounge about, soaking in the sun all day!
BREEDING PAIR OF BLACK SWANS BONNIE AND CLYDE

ANNIE THE GOAT
Come along and say hello to Annie the goat !
Guinea Pigs
Come along and say hello to our family of guinea pigs. You can also cuddle them if you ask a member of staff.
Ducks
Come along and meet Pom Pom, Daffy and Gloria. Gloria is the white duck and loves cuddles, she doesn't realise she is a duck.
Our Bawtry alpacas are available for private hire.
